Offre et cession de chanvre indien : Le lutteur Thialky de Grand-Yoff relaxé au bénéfice du doute
Grand-Yoff wrestler Oumar Ndao, alias "Thialky," aged 28, appeared before the Dakar flagrante delicto court on Friday, September 12, 2025, for offering and selling Indian hemp. He was being tried alongside Cheikh Amadou Ly Guèye (21). The two youths, placed in custody on September 9, were being prosecuted after the seizure of nine cones of Indian hemp.
They were arrested during a patrol by officers from the Grand-Yoff district police station, who were informed of drug trafficking in the area.
In court, the defendants denied any involvement. Thialky maintained that he was sitting outside his home when he was arrested, despite showing his ID. "To my surprise, the police showed me some Indian hemp that they said they found in a place frequented by young people. I am a wrestler and a voice actor. I am neither a smoker nor a seller of 'yamba,'" he said.
The prosecutor reminded him of his criminal record: a 15-day prison sentence in 2017 for using Indian hemp. The wrestler retorted that he had since turned his back on drugs to focus on his arena career.
His co-defendant, Cheikh Guèye, also denied the charges: "I don't even smoke cigarettes. The police arrested me in front of a shop. I didn't run away like the other young people because I had my ID."
The prosecution representative called for strict application of criminal law, while the defense argued for a benevolent application of the law.
Finally, the court acquitted the two defendants on the benefit of the doubt.
