This Thursday, Mouhamadou Ngom, better known as Farba Ngom, appeared before the college of investigating judges of the Financial Judicial Pool (PJF). The mayor of Agnams must answer the accusations arising from a report by the National Cell for the Processing of Financial Information (CENTIF), which highlights an alleged money laundering estimated at more than 125 billion FCFA. Farba Ngom is not the only one targeted in this case: other influential figures are also cited in this document.
In his introductory indictment, the financial public prosecutor requested the opening of a judicial investigation for charges including criminal association, fraud on public funds, money laundering, as well as forgery and use of forged documents. The financial prosecutor's office also requested a detention warrant against Farba Ngom and his alleged accomplices. The final decision now rests in the hands of the investigating judge.
