Sénégal : Un Centre national du casier judiciaire pour faciliter l’accès des citoyens

As part of the National Dematerialization and Digitization Program, the Senegalese government is establishing a National Criminal Records Center. The goal: to modernize and simplify access to judicial information, according to the Minister of Justice.

Obtaining a criminal record is often a long and complex process. The computerization project will centralize all requests and issue criminal records at the court closest to the citizen, regardless of their place of birth, Ousmane Diagne explained before Parliament.

He added that the National Criminal Records Centre, which will be headed by a magistrate, will centralise all information and ensure rapid and uniform processing of all requests. "This reform aims to make criminal records accessible to all citizens quickly and securely, while modernising our judicial system through digitalisation," he said.

The minister also emphasized that the project is also part of a broader digital library initiative, which will provide citizens with expanded access to laws, decrees, and other official texts. According to the authorities, this initiative will strengthen the transparency and efficiency of the Senegalese judicial system, while making everyday life easier for citizens.

L’extrait de naissance doit suivre rapidement parce que le Senegal est rempli de gens avec de fausses pièces d’identité sénégalaises
