On June 4, 2025, Omar Sow appeared before the Dakar Court of Flagrant Offences for disseminating false news, an offense for which he had already received a six-month suspended sentence in January 2025. During the program Ultimatum on Seneweb, he had stated that the prosecution had scheduled the placement of the former Minister of Justice, Ismaila Madior Fall, under electronic monitoring.

In court, after the screening of the incriminating video, Sow admitted his comments but pleaded a "slip of the tongue" by mentioning the prosecution. "I made these comments in a context where our camp is under attack. I based my remarks on Ismaila Madior Fall's statements on 7TV and on rumors attributed to Waly Diouf Bodiang, saying that Ismaila was going to 'swallow a bracelet he ordered,'" he explained. He apologized to the public prosecutor, Ibrahima Ndoye, whom he described as a "pious man, insensitive to political pressure" on the same show. "I did not want to discredit the institutions. I have an honor to defend. I was targeting people in the ministry who have a grudge against Ismaila," he added.

Pressed by the judge to name these individuals, Sow refused, citing harsh police custody and the harsh conditions at Rebeuss prison. "I slept on the floor and experienced 'paketass'. I will not name names until the whistleblower law is passed," he argued.
