A total of eight suspects have been brought before the court in connection with the investigation into the spectacular robbery in Ouakam. According to Libération, they are S. Bâ, the alleged mastermind of the gang; CM Sidibé, both aged 23; K. Sall, 25; M. Diop, 21; I. Bâ, 55, S. Bâ's father; MD Bâ, 23, S. Bâ's half-brother; DA Niang, the father of a suspect on the run; and PG Sarr, 21.

The first four are being prosecuted for criminal conspiracy, gang robbery committed with violence, and use of means of transport. I. Bâ and DA Niang received funds from the loot. The last, PG Sarr, is being prosecuted for receiving stolen goods, the same source said.

Three members of the gang, "formally identified," are on the run. They are being actively sought, the newspaper reports.

A key piece of information accelerated the investigation, Libération continues. Facing investigators, "Sidibé admitted to having been recruited" by S. Bâ. On the day of the incident, he added, "while they were stationed with their three motorcycles near the FBN Bank branch in Almadies, S. Bâ was talking on the phone with an individual who gave him precise information about Mr. Diagne, who had been tasked by [the businessman], C. Badiane, with withdrawing the 100 million CFA francs."

The informer is none other than A. Badiane, confirms L'Observateur. He is related to the complainant, adds Libération. He is the one who allegedly planned everything. "The heist was planned on March 15, six days before the attack on the convoy," details the daily newspaper of the Future Media Group. S. Bâ was approached by A. Badiane. During their meeting, A. Badiane revealed to [the leader of the scooter gang] that C. Badiane's employee would appear at the [above-mentioned] bank on March 21."

Armed with this information, S. Bâ rushed to "form his commando" before taking action. "On D-Day, it was again A. Badiane who called S. Bâ" to inform him that the target was on his way to the bank, adds Libération.

At the end of the investigation, L'Observateur figures, 41 million 225 thousand 450 CFA francs were recovered by the bloodhounds of the Criminal Investigations Division (DIC).
