Affaire Lat Diop : les avocats convoquent la presse ce lundi
Lat Diop's lawyers will hold a press conference this Monday at 4 p.m. The announcement was made in a statement signed by Cheikh Ahmadou Ndiaye, a member of the defense team. According to the document, which was consulted by Les Echos, the meeting aims to "bring to the public's attention elements that shed light on the ongoing case," while scrupulously respecting the confidentiality of the investigation.
As a reminder, Lat Diop, former Director General of LONASE and political executive of the Alliance for the Republic (APR), has been in custody since September 26, 2024. He is being prosecuted for embezzlement of public funds, extortion and money laundering.
Recently, based on an expert report, the public prosecutor had formulated a supplementary indictment, calling for a new indictment of Lat Diop. But the financial indictment chamber took the opposite view of the prosecutor, pointing out the unreliability of the report in question due, in particular, to its non-contradictory nature.
