Cité Sipres II : Un Directeur de Securiport dépouillé de son iPhone 15 et 1,5 million FCFA, son voleur arrêté par la police

Police officers from the Pikine District Police Station's Research Brigade arrested a suspected thief using geolocation data from a phone stolen from a senior executive at the American company Securiport, according to Seneweb sources.

A large-scale night flight

On the night of August 31, 2025, Sékoun Jean Martial N'Gatta, aged 41 and Administrative and Financial Director of Securiport, the company specializing in border control and civil aviation security solutions, was the victim of a robbery at his home in Cité Sipres II.

The stolen loot included an iPhone 15 and the considerable sum of one million five hundred thousand (1,500,000) CFA francs, bringing the total damage to several million CFA francs.

Technology at the service of the investigation

Cleverly exploiting the geolocation data of his stolen smartphone, Ivorian national N'Gatta was able to trace the device to Pikine, precisely in front of a mechanic's workshop, on September 1, 2025 at around 2 p.m.

Even before the arrival of the police, the complainant and his relatives had already overpowered the suspect and recovered the stolen phone as well as part of the loot, one million CFA francs.

A suspect with multiple suspicious activities

The suspect, identified as A. Dia, 33, a street vendor living in Fass Mbao, was taken into custody. Questioned about the origin of the phone, he stated that he had purchased it on the black market in Thiaroye on August 31, 2025, from an unknown person.

However, the search revealed the extent of his dubious activities: around twenty telephones, a tablet and three laptops were seized and recorded for the purposes of the investigation, according to Seneweb sources.

Investigators also stopped the Ford Fusion vehicle driven by the suspect.

The effectiveness of this intervention illustrates the growing importance of new technologies in solving criminal cases and the speed of intervention of Senegalese police officers when faced with this type of crime.

Il me l'a ramené. Je lui ai payé la course.
