Abdou Karim Diop, acting director of West African Energy (WAE), was prevented from accessing the Cap des Biches power plant by security personnel, reports Leral. A long and tense discussion ensued between the security manager and members of the company.

"As long as you don't show the document proving that you are the director, I won't let you in." These were the words the security officer used to address the new interim director, accompanied by several colleagues at the Cap des Biches power plant, operated by WAE. In his hands were documents, likely confirming the order he had received not to let the new director in. "I showed you my papers. Do the same," he added.

One of the company's employees, for his part, refused to listen to this argument. He believed the security guard's documents came from a lawyer. "Lawyers don't mean anything. They give opinions, but they don't have the authority that judges do. What bothers me is that you don't even try to understand what I'm explaining to you," he retorted.

According to the source, the new interim director was blocked from entering because WAE shareholders are contesting his appointment and refusing to recognize him as their leader.
