Développement économique et social de la région de Thiès : Dangote Cement Senegal heureux d’avoir concrétisé le Customers Trucks Empowerment Scheme

The symbolic ceremony of handing over, by the company Dangote Cement Senegal, the keys of the trucks to its loyal distribution partners, within the framework of the Customers Trucks Empowerment Scheme (CTES), was also an opportunity to present the trophy of the ASC WallyDaan FC football team, sponsored by Dangote.

In front of the Nigerian Ambassador to Senegal, Aminu Abdulkadir, the Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Petroleum, Energy and Mines, Professor Diakhaté and Ousmane Cissé, advisor to the Minister, the authorities of the villages of Seune-Sérère, Niakhip, Fouloum, Galane, Ngomène, Ndeuye, Seune-Ouolof, Tchicky, the Managing Director of Dangote Cement Senegal, Ousmane Mbaye, considered this moment as being both "a symbol and a concretization of our common commitment: that is to say, to support our distributors, to strengthen their logistical capacities, and thus to contribute to the economic and social development of the Thiès region." This moment and this ceremony are, in Mr. Mbaye's eyes, all the more important as Dangote Cement Senegal completes this year, the tenth anniversary of its entry into production.

He emphasized that "it is thanks to our distributors, with whom we have been working for a decade, that we are standing strong in the market and that our product, Dangote cement, remains accessible and appreciated by consumers. But beyond production, we are celebrating ten years of collaboration today. In this spirit, we are continually looking for solutions, methods, and mechanisms to further support our partner-distributors." He noted that "this symbolic handover of keys to a first cohort of partner-distributors rewards the spirit of loyalty and commitment. And this is why Dangote Cement Senegal is very happy and proud to have implemented the Customers Trucks Empowerment Scheme (CTES).

Beyond its operational efficiency, Mr. Mbaye indicated that "this system illustrates our philosophy: that is, to build sustainable and responsible partnerships that benefit all stakeholders in the ecosystem (distributors, customers, and local communities). He explains that the CTES is part of this logic, by making it possible to "lighten the investment effort of distributors and open up prospects for shared growth around our brand and our presence on the market." The CEO of Dangote was delighted with the presence at the ceremony of the Thiessois football team, WallyDaan FC, sponsored by Dangote Cement Senegal, who came to present the League Cup trophy, won this year by its junior team.

He recalled that the club, chaired by Mr. Algaphe Diagne, ranked "5th during its first participation in Ligue 1. A very good performance! This is another example of a win-win partnership that Dangote has established here with the stakeholders impacted by its activities, and even beyond." Looking back at the genesis of the history of their partnership with WallyDaan FC, Ousmane Mbaye recounts that "in 2024, we welcomed its president Algaphe Diagne to the factory, who explained to us his ambitious project: to grow football in the Thiès region, to mobilize young people around a common goal and thus promote their potential. Our response was immediate and determined: Dangote Cement Senegal is ready to make this dream a reality."

Today, the Dangote CEO rejoices, "we are proud to continue this partnership with WallyDaan FC and even to consider even more ambitious challenges. We are thinking, for example, of developing an integrated training center to occupy young people and offer new perspectives to those who believe in their dreams of succeeding in football."

Dangote Cement Senegal reaffirmed its commitment to continue investing, innovating and working hand in hand with all of its partners, distributors and local communities, in order to build a more robust, more inclusive, more prosperous and more sustainable ecosystem for Thiès and for all of Senegal.
