DRAME : La foudre sème la tristesse à Kaolack
The sad news came from the National Agency for Civil Aviation and Meteorology (ANACIM). The thunderstorms and rain that hit the country on Monday unfortunately caused a tragedy this afternoon in the Kaolack region.
In fact, in Medina Thiamène, in the department of Nioro, three children were struck by lightning: two tragically lost their lives, while the third remains between life and death, she informs.
"Lightning remains extremely dangerous for humans. Take all necessary precautions to shelter during thunderstorms," it advises. The agency reports that after Kaolack, the rain system headed towards the towns of Diourbel, Fatick, Mbour, and Thiès.
"Currently, it is located in Dakar, where its intensity has significantly decreased. However, it has generated several thunderstorms and light to moderate rain in several districts of the capital," it said in its midnight bulletin.
