The "Flag of the Head of State for Traditional Wrestling" will make its grand return to Ziguinchor after the last edition organized in 2006. A regional development committee (CRD) was held at the deliberation chamber of the Ziguinchor departmental council to ensure the smooth organization of this major event in Senegalese wrestling, to the great satisfaction of the delegation of the National Wrestling Management Committee (CNG).

"The governor of the Ziguinchor region was very responsive. I think we are now at a third meeting. This means that as soon as the Ziguinchor Regional Wrestling Management Committee was officially informed of the organization of this major event, the Governor promptly convened the regional committee, then the National Management Committee to discuss organizational arrangements, before convening the CRD. He understood the importance of this major event, the Flag of the Head of State," said the national technical director of wrestling, Khalifa Sow, representing the president of the CNG. Khalifa Sow expressed his satisfaction with the arrangements made for the organization of the "Flag of the Head of State" in Ziguinchor.

From security coverage to electricity supply and site cleanup, all aspects related to the organization and success of this event were taken into account, with firm commitments from the relevant departments under the leadership of Governor Mor Talla Tine. The latter reassured the CNG of the region's capacity to manage the security of major sporting and other events.

Regarding cultural mobilization and animation, the head of the regional executive wishes to take advantage of this traditional wrestling event to showcase the region's cultural potential. "Ziguinchor is a great land of culture, and we intend to seize this opportunity to showcase its many cultural facets to the world. To this end, we have asked the regional wrestling management committee to collaborate with the Regional Cultural Center, as well as the regional inspectorate of youth and sports, to identify cultural troupes," said Mor Talla Tine.

To support the regional delegations, the National Wrestling Management Committee, as with each edition of the Flag of the Head of State, undertakes to financially support the delegations by covering the costs of accommodation, transport and catering.

Regarding the activities related to this edition of the Flag of the Head of State in Ziguinchor, the date of May 14 to 18, 2024 has been set.
