Escroquerie au visa : La DNLT interpelle deux malfaiteurs
The National Division for the Fight against Migrant Trafficking and Related Practices (DNLT) has arrested two individuals for criminal conspiracy, visa fraud, forgery and use of forged documents.
It all started with a complaint. A victim had paid 1,650,000 CFA francs to obtain a French visa. After receiving the money, one of the suspects handed over a counterfeit visa, detached from the passport, prompting the victim to report the scam.
During his hearing, the first suspect admitted to having received 500,000 CFA francs for himself and transferred 1,150,000 CFA francs to his accomplice, without being able to provide proof of this transaction.
At his home, police seized fake visa stickers, falsified birth certificates, and other counterfeit documents. He explained that he obtained them from colleagues for a fee of 10,000 CFA francs per fake visa sticker and 1,000 CFA francs per birth certificate.
A search led to the arrest of his accomplice in Guédiawaye, who was also questioned. The two suspects were brought before the prosecutor at the Dakar High Court for the aforementioned charges.
