Faux documents de voyage : deux agences de voyage et certains de leurs employés tombent, le fantôme «Docteur Sambou» recherché
The French embassy in Dakar had raised the alarm last May when it reported that Schengen visa applicants had presented themselves to its offices with false documents. Seizing the opportunity, the National Division for the Fight against Migrant Trafficking and Related Practices (DNLT) opened an investigation. This resulted in the arrest of six suspects and placed two travel agencies in the investigators' sights.
The agencies in question are "Europe Voyage" and "Keur Serigne Abdou Anne." The link between the two: the same maker of forged documents, a certain "Doctor Sambou." According to Libération, which revealed the initial results of the DNLT investigations, the latter is actively being sought.
The first person to fall as part of the dismantling of the counterfeiting network is MC Keïta. She was arrested in front of the VSF Global Voyage headquarters in Dakar, the newspaper reports. "From her interview," the same source continues, "it appears that she had initiated, initially from Guinea, a visa application process that had ramifications in Senegal, through a woman named K. Aïdara, manager of the 'Europe Voyage' agency."
K. Aïdara allegedly gave MC Keïta the false documents (bank statement, work certificate, leave certificate, etc.) presented to the French embassy. Arrested in turn, she stated, according to Libération, that she had acted on the orders of her employers named Ma. Mbengue and Mo. Fall.
The newspaper reports that his hearing also led to the identification of two other alleged members of the network: a certain Cissokho, who is said to be the agency's accountant, and K. Bah, "who received most of the funds from visa applicants through his Wave number."
In addition, the AIBD special police station arrested and handed over to the DNTL F. Bâ, A. Bèye and El HB Diop, who were preparing to leave Senegal for Turkey, with false travel documents. "Interrogated," reports Libération, "they formally identified A. Guèye, manager of the travel agency 'Keur Serigne Abdou Anne'. Arrested and taken to the DNTL headquarters, A. Guèye attempted to clear her name by claiming to have acted only on the orders of her employer, in this case a man named Baldé, who is said to be based in the United States, without providing any further details."
The daily newspaper reports that the investigation is continuing to capture "Doctor Sambou" and the other suspects on the run.
