Inertie de la justice face aux crimes commis durant les manifestations politiques : L’État répond à l'interpellation de Pape Abdoulaye Touré
The Ministry of Justice has responded favorably to the request of the founding member of the Zero Impunity Initiative addressed to the Head of State on the lack of responsiveness of the justice system in the face of the crimes that shook the country between 2021 and 2024.
"Following our letter of referral addressed to the President of the Republic, His Excellency Bassirou Diomaye Faye, in his capacity as guarantor of the proper functioning of institutions, to question him on the inertia of justice in the face of crimes of murder, assassination, torture, inhuman, cruel and degrading treatment as well as enforced disappearance that occurred during the tragic events that shook our country between 2021 and 2024, we received an official response from the Ministry of Justice," Pape Abdoulaye Touré said in a statement sent to Seneweb.
He added: "In a letter dated August 1, 2025, the Minister of Justice, Mr. Ousmane Diagne, informed us that our letter had been forwarded to his office by the Minister, Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic. This letter, in which we demanded justice on behalf of all victims of the political demonstrations, had been taken into consideration. More importantly, the Minister notified us that a letter had been sent to the Attorney General at the Dakar Court of Appeal, inviting him to initiate proceedings relating to the crimes committed during the political demonstrations."
The torture victim and founding member of the Zero Impunity Initiative welcomed this "rapid and responsible response" from the President of the Republic and his Minister of Justice, which, according to him, is "a strong signal that reflects a clear desire of the new authorities to break with impunity and restore trust between the Senegalese people and their justice system."
According to him, "their commitment is in line with that of the people who, for years, have been demanding justice, truth and reparation."
"But, even as we reaffirm our confidence in our country's justice system, we also call on all our compatriots here and in the diaspora to remain vigilant and mobilized, because true justice is measured in concrete action. We will closely monitor the follow-up to this referral at the level of the public prosecutor's office. Furthermore, in partnership with Amnesty International Senegal and other human rights organizations, we announce the upcoming establishment of a center of lawyers. This collective will offer free legal assistance to all victims or families of martyrs, as soon as the legal proceedings are initiated," said Pape Abdoulaye Touré.
The Zero Impunity Initiative (IZI) also launched a solemn appeal to all Senegalese people, to the families of victims, to survivors and to all national and international human rights organisations to "unite and reject oblivion, silence and impunity".

Ce n'est pas ce Abdoulaye Touré qui avait incendié l'université de Dakar ? Dans un autre pays, il serait déjà 7 pieds sous terre. Aujourd'hui il fait la vedette des plateaux tv comme Cledor Sene l'assassin de Me Seye intégré dans la mafia pestiférée.
Il 'ya qu'au Senegal ou des casseurs et des pyromanes deviennent des vedettes. N'importe ou ailleurs, ce mec allait moisir en prison.

Le problème est que ce sont les FDS qui ont fait ça et ils ont reçu que des instructions. Et ce que les citoyens ne savent pas le Sénégal est le pays le plus stable d'Afrique et l'un des pays les plus stable du monde. Derrière cette stabilité il y'a une répression interne de la menace qui est parfois très dangereuse pour le peuple. Si le peuple ne voit pas ça c'est que le principe de la violence légitime et silencieuse s'applique. Il faut pas prendre cette voie de suivre qui va fragiliser la police la gendarmerie et les paramilitaires. Quand vous dormez ils sont en train de patrouiller. Ne suivez pas ces gens et au contraire donnez encore beaucoup plus de véhicules et de moyens notamment les lunettes nocturnes les matraques électriques nouvelles générations et surtout des pouvoir de répression.
