Médina : un chauffeur de taxi poignardé à mort pour un téléphone
On the night of Monday 18 to Tuesday 19 August 2025, a tragedy took place in the Medina, where Oumar Sylla Diallo, a luggage taxi driver, was fatally stabbed by EM Ba, alias Elhadji, who was drunk.
According to testimonies collected by investigators at the Medina district police station, EM Ba, under the influence of alcohol, attempted to steal the victim's phone. Faced with Oumar Sylla Diallo's resistance, the attacker stabbed him, as reported by two witnesses. The victim was rushed to Abass Ndao Hospital by an anonymous taxi driver, but succumbed to his injuries.
After his crime, EM Ba fled to escape justice. However, the men of Chief Superintendent Mamadou Fall Ndiaye, head of the Medina police station, quickly identified the suspect. Aware that his arrest was imminent, EM Ba presented himself on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at the Thiaroye police station, where he confessed to his actions, according to Seneweb sources. He was then transferred to Medina and placed in police custody.
