Things are at loggerheads between Lamine Niang, general manager of SSPP "Le Soleil," and the company's Synpics branch. In a statement sent to Seneweb, the union denounced a complete breakdown in dialogue, accusing the boss of systematically ignoring their correspondence. "Several letters have been sent to him without the slightest response," the statement laments, which strongly condemns this attitude. Synpics points to an approach it considers biased: "On Tuesday, March 4, 2025, a colleague, automatically appointed by Mr. Niang as coordinator of the College of Delegates, informed us via WhatsApp of a meeting scheduled with the CEO for Wednesday, March 12, 2025. This initiative clearly demonstrates his bias in a dispute between the unions." The statement adds: "With this gesture, Lamine Niang is seeking to impose a coordinator by circumventing legitimate structures, including Synpics, the majority union since the last delegate elections."

The union traces a series of grievances. In a letter dated January 31, 2025, it denounced a false report claiming to appoint a coordinator, while the meeting in question never took place, disrupted by a delegate who insulted the general secretary of Synpics in front of witnesses. This letter remained unanswered. On February 7, 2025, during a meeting with the CEO, Synpics demanded a proper election to choose the coordinator, in the presence of all delegates, both full and alternate. Then, on February 10, after the resignation of an alternate delegate, the union requested recognition of his replacement, fourth on the list of alternates, or, failing that, a by-election, as provided for in Articles L211-3 and L213 of the Labor Code and Decree No. 67-1360 (Articles 16 and 27). "This request was royally ignored," the text laments. A week later, on February 17, the Synpics submitted a platform of demands and requested a hearing. Lamine Niang responded: "The points raised will be examined at the next meeting with the College of Delegates." A rejection that, according to the union, formalizes the breakdown of dialogue.

The Synpics is outraged: "It is unprecedented in the history of the SSPP 'Le Soleil' for a newly appointed CEO to refuse to meet with the most representative union." Ironically, this stance comes at a time when President Bassirou Diomaye Faye and his Prime Minister are advocating for ongoing tripartite dialogue. Despite its desire to calm the social climate, the Synpics warns: it will not allow itself to be trampled and will use all legal means to enforce its rights.
