Rufisque : Double coup de filet antidrogue de la Police en 24 heures

In the space of 24 hours, the research brigade of the central police station of Rufisque carried out two separate operations which led to the arrest of two Indian hemp traffickers and the seizure of nearly 500 grams of narcotics.

The Rufisque police force is intensifying its fight against drug trafficking in the area. Two consecutive operations conducted on August 19 and 20, 2025, demonstrate the effectiveness of the security measures implemented by the central police station.

First haul: A fisherman caught in the act

The first arrest took place on the night of August 19 at around 11 p.m., during a security patrol at the Rufisque fishing dock. The search brigade officers carried out a routine check on A. M'Baye, 49, who identified himself as a fisherman and lived in Diokoul.

What was supposed to be a simple identity check turned into an arrest when a body search revealed the presence of ten cones of Indian hemp hidden on his person. Confronted with the facts, the accused immediately admitted his guilt.

Despite his confession, A.M'Baye refused to reveal the identity of his supplier, showing little cooperation regarding the network's ramifications. He was taken into custody for possession and sale of narcotics.

Second arrest: A delivery network unmasked

Less than eight hours later, on the morning of August 20 at around 6 a.m., a new operation led to the arrest of JABadji, 25, a home delivery driver in Keuri Kaw. The young man was riding a Jakarta motorcycle in the Diokoul Ndiourel area when he was stopped for a check.

A search of his machine revealed an unexpected discovery: four blocks of Indian hemp weighing one hundred grams each, a total of 400 grams of carefully packaged narcotics.

An organized delivery system

During his interrogation, JABadji provided details about how the network operated. According to his statements, he was to collect the goods from a certain C. Diop, residing in Diokoul, to deliver them to G. Sall residing in Keur Ndiaye LO.

To verify this information, investigators organized a flagrant operation by accompanying the delivery driver to the intended delivery location. But the recipient, upon seeing the arrival of law enforcement, fled, unwittingly confirming his guilt.

The two suspects were placed under arrest and are facing prosecution for drug trafficking. Investigators seized all the evidence: the first suspect's ten cones, the second suspect's four blocks, as well as the Jakarta motorcycle used for transportation.

Active searches are underway to locate and arrest C. Diop and G. Sall, identified as the other links in this trafficking chain. Their arrest would make it possible to dismantle this network, which appears to be well-structured with its suppliers, transporters, and customers.
