Yesterday, Wednesday, March 12, the 14th Extraordinary General Assembly of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) was held in Egypt. During this meeting, the African football governing body renewed the members of its Executive Committee and its representatives on the FIFA Council.
The president of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF), Augustin Senghor, had run for a seat as a FIFA advisor, but was unfortunately not elected. The lawyer received only 13 votes.
$250,000 each year
He ranks just behind another fellow West African in misfortune, Yacine Idriss Diallo (18 votes), president of the Ivorian Football Federation. If successful, Augustin Senghor would have received some $250,000 a year, or just over 150 million CFA francs.
