In his first appearance as head coach, Pape Thiaw has to deal with numerous injuries. Nicolas Jackson, Iliman Ndiaye, El Hadj Malick Diouf, and Habib Diarra, to name but a few, are already out.

To compensate for these absences, Pape Thiaw has just published a largely revised list, composed of 26 players, including some new faces. Among these are Ilay Camara (Standard de Liège), Yehvann Diouf (Reims), and especially Assane Diao (Como), who was coveted by Spain. Richard Sagna, a player for AS Douanes in the Senegalese second division, has also been called up.
