Sortie du ministre du Supérieur sur les bourses : Indigné, le Collectif des amicales de l'UCAD monte au créneau
The Collective of student associations of Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar, the only legal and legitimate structure in charge of the demands of the student community of UCAD, deplores the remarks made by the Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation before the deputies at the National Assembly.
"Driven by a desire to manipulate public opinion, the Mesri has stated that scholarship payments will begin on December 5th. The collective's demand is in no way related to these normal payments, as is the case every academic year," the collective replied.
The group is demanding full payment of all outstanding arrears. Added to this is the suspension of scholarships for Master 2 students, as well as omissions found on payment statements impacting numerous students at all levels of study.
Furthermore, the group calls on the student community to be much more responsible. "We are against the vandalism and waste seen on campus, particularly in the restaurants," the group emphasizes, reminding everyone that "the university buildings belong to the students."
They have now decided to take all necessary measures to regulate the "ticket-free days". "Each student can eat once, giving others the opportunity to do the same," the group stated, reiterating its slogan and commitment to "the valiant student community".
