Crises d’hystérie au lycée de Mako : Les cours perturbés et des parents inquiets accourent
The usual calm of Mako High School, located in the commune of Tomboronkoto (department of Kédougou), was abruptly broken this Tuesday around 8:30 a.m. Hysterical fits, commonly known locally as "djinné Maimouna", broke out again within the establishment, sowing confusion and concern among the students and staff.
According to witnesses, several girls were hit simultaneously, causing panic in some classrooms.
Faced with the situation, many parents and students, alerted by telephone, rushed to the school to pick up their children.
This resurgence of the phenomenon comes in the middle of internal assessments. The disruptions prevented some classes from taking their exams, jeopardizing the smooth running of the tests. The school administration, visibly concerned, is trying to assess the extent of the incident in order to decide what measures to take for the remainder of the assessments.
Local initiatives are planning to address the problem in the coming days in order to provide reassuring answers to families and ensure a calm school climate.
