Matam : Lancement des activités du sport scolaire
The Matam Academy Inspectorate (IA) launched the 2025-2026 school sports season in the region this weekend with a hike that brought together several elementary school students.
The students, who walked from the academy inspection to the regional stadium, were accompanied by administrative and school authorities, teachers and many department heads who made the trip with the deputy governor in charge of development.
At the end of the hike, the IA of Matam highlighted the importance of school sport in school life. "Sport within the school is important for health, social cohesion, education and, beyond that, it promotes the detection of talent," he declared.
Looking back on the performances (a trophy and medals) achieved last year by students from the Matam region at the National School Sports Festival, Mamadou Oumar Guèye expressed his wish for better sporting results.
