Tivaouane réclame un lycée minier
"A mining high school should have been a reality in Tivaouane a long time ago, given the presence of several extractive industries in the area." This plea comes from the president of the Tivaouane Departmental Council, Ms. Seynabou Gaye Touré.
During a press conference, she lamented the lack of support from certain extractive industries for the construction of a mining high school in the department. Regarding the situation of the Mame Abdou Aziz Sy Dabakh Hospital in Tivaouane, the President of the Departmental Council recalled a promise of rehabilitation made by the former Minister of Health.
“Abdoulaye Diouf Sarr promised me the hospital’s rehabilitation. As someone committed to ensuring the continuity of the state, I remain convinced that this rehabilitation will take place,” Ms. Touré stated. She also reiterated her call for greater involvement from public and private stakeholders to strengthen vocational training opportunities and improve the department’s healthcare infrastructure.
