Assemblée nationale : les 14 commissions actées

The National Assembly officially ratified the lists of members of the 14 standing committees this Friday. This meeting was chaired by El Malick Ndiaye, President of the National Assembly, and the lists were unanimously adopted.

The 14 committees cover the country's main sectors of activity. They include the finance, economy, energy, education, health, defense, sustainable development, and regional planning committees.

Other committees deal with foreign affairs, rural development, decentralization, human rights, accounting and control, and delegations.

This ratification helps structure parliamentary work for the coming months. Committees are bodies that allow parliamentarians to examine bills in depth before they are debated in the House.

This plenary session follows the election of the Assembly's bureau on October 15, thus completing the installation of the governing bodies, with the exception of the president elected in 2024.

A meeting was then scheduled for Friday afternoon to allow committee members to organize themselves and designate their respective offices.
