Barthélémy Dias broke away from the Taxawu movement, under whose banner he had become mayor of Dakar. And when he left Khalifa Sall to found Senegal Bi Gnou Bokk, he was reportedly followed by five Taxawu advisors.
At this time, Dias has not stated a definitive position. "We are going to open consultations to determine what course of action to take," revealed Alioune Tall, one of his close associates, contacted by Les Échos. We have been working in perfect collaboration with Ngoné Mbengue since Barth [Barthélémy Dias] left. She consults us on all decisions to be made."
What about Pastef, who makes no secret of his ambition to control the capital's city hall? Barthélémy Dias has not ruled out talks with the Patriots in preparation for the election of his successor.
"Pastef's councilors are also elected officials with whom we have been working from the beginning," recalls Alioune Tall. "We certainly don't have the same political affiliation, but we are all aware of the role we must play for the well-being of Dakar residents. Pastef's councilors are elected officials like the rest of us. I praise the commitment of Pastef's elected officials to making Dakar an attractive city. They have always actively participated in the work."
