Municipalité de Rufisque : Un budget 2026 record adopté pour transformer la cité
The Rufisque Municipal Council has taken a decisive step for the future of the municipality. Meeting in budget session, the municipal councilors unanimously adopted the budget for the 2026 fiscal year. Amounting to over 6.5 billion FCFA, this allocation marks a spectacular increase compared to the 4.9 billion FCFA of the previous year, reflecting a strengthened ambition for the city's development.

A distribution focused on social impact and efficiency
The new budget is structured around two major pillars. The Operating component, with a budget of 5.3 billion FCFA, includes an unprecedented social effort: an allocation of 724 million FCFA dedicated to increasing the salaries of municipal employees.

For its part, the Investment section, amounting to 1.2 billion FCFA, supports a series of large-scale projects. This momentum is largely supported by the State, particularly through grant funding, enabling the municipality to launch major infrastructure projects.

Infrastructure and living environment: major projects
Roads and sanitation are top priorities, with the official start of works on November 19th. Among the flagship projects are: the construction of the strategic Fass container road, the renovation of iconic sports infrastructure, including the Ngalandou Diouf stadium and the Tanor Anta Mbakhar racecourse, and the allocation of land for the reconstruction of the House of Justice, strengthening access to justice for citizens.

Beyond concrete, the Council is focusing on human development. The city is establishing a new cultural framework with the creation of a Fund to support initiatives and the launch of the Rufisque Arts Festival.

On the social front, the adopted resolutions expand support mechanisms: subsidies for places of worship, support for local associations, and enhanced educational support. For the City Council, this unanimous vote demonstrates a shared commitment to building a more dynamic, inclusive, and attractive city.
