Ñaxtu National du 8 novembre : Le FDR annonce une participation massive

The Front for the Defense of the Republic (FDR) announced on Thursday, through a press release, its massive participation in the National Assembly of November 8, 2025. It reiterated – “its support for all initiatives to fight for the satisfaction of the democratic and social demands of the Senegalese people, and for the cessation of the abuses of the PASTEF power”.

Also in the document, the FDR praised the mobilization during the People's March of October 31st.

He said that, "despite the government's attempt to sabotage the march by changing its route at the last minute, the people of Dakar massively occupied Bourguiba Avenue to denounce the democratic, economic and social regression that our country has been experiencing since the PASTEF government came to power."

“The success of the People’s March of October 31st is a first step that calls for others, much more decisive, which must be prepared here and now. This is why the FDR calls on all opposition parties and citizen forces to join it and to perfect unity of action now, in order to create as quickly as possible the conditions for the reconstruction of our country, which is currently severely fractured in all areas by the PASTEF regime, as incompetent as it is dangerous. It is, of course, open to joining forces with all other active forces ready to engage in the fight to save our country and democracy,” the statement reads.

Furthermore, the organizers reported that the demonstrators took advantage of this mobilization to demand the cancellation of tax levies that are undermining the purchasing power of the poor and middle classes of the population, the maintenance of subsidies on energy and basic consumer goods, the immediate payment of family security grants, compensation for flood victims, the reinstatement of the 30,000 laid-off workers to their rights, respect for agreements with trade union organizations and the definition of a serious youth employment policy, respect for democratic freedoms and an end to the persecution of journalists, opponents and critical voices, the immediate release of political prisoners and hostages and the cancellation of political prosecutions, particularly those brought concerning the events of 2021 to 2024 while Law 2024-09 on amnesty is still in force.

Note that the Tera meeting of the leader of PAstef, Ousmane Sonko, is scheduled for the same date.

Ils ne saboteront point ! il y a 14 heures

Le Préfet doit leur interdire de saboter le meeting déjà déclaré de Ousmane Sonko ! Sinon, nous nous y opposerons.
