« Pactes et complots » au Cap Manuel : les graves révélations du ministre-conseiller Aldiouma Sow
In the wake of the statement by Pastef leader Ousmane Sonko, Aldiouma Sow, Minister-Advisor to the Presidency of the Republic, in charge of the political, civil society and trade unions division and member of the National Political Bureau of Pastef, published a long message on Facebook in which he vigorously defends the line of the Head of State Bassirou Diomaye Faye and addresses the internal tensions within the movement.
In this strongly worded publication, the political figure first emphasizes the President's consistent commitment to promoting political dialogue. According to him, this choice, made since the call for national dialogue in May 2025, stems from a "method of governance" and not from a short-term calculation.
Aldiouma Sow also asserts that the head of state "never made any secret pacts" nor participated in any political deals during his detention at Cap Manuel prison. He maintains that the criteria for evaluating the president should remain, in his view, his program and his oath.
The minister-advisor also mentions the alleged existence of "pacts and plots" that were allegedly made in restricted circles during this period, accusing certain political actors of having attempted maneuvers to influence the future of Pastef's political project and the electoral balances.
In his message, he also revisits the internal dynamics of the party during the past legislative and local elections, denouncing nomination choices that he considers unfavorable to historical figures in favor of allies deemed opportunistic.

"Things now have the merit of being perfectly clear.
It is undeniable that the President of the Republic remains a fervent advocate and supporter of political dialogue. From this perspective, he remains entirely consistent with his position since his call for national dialogue in May 2025, reiterated this year.
For him, dialogue is not a variable for adjusting current circumstances or a mere tactical lever; it is a cardinal political value, a method of governing public affairs. He devoted entire days to dialogue, even though nothing, constitutionally, ethically, or morally, compelled him to do so.
This is all the more remarkable considering the slander and lies he endured from those who sought dialogue at the last minute. Their primary aim was to salvage the political careers of a clique of officials who never dared tell the "messiah" the truth when, in June and July 2025, he embarked on an ineffective and selfish campaign of political blackmail to save his own candidacy in the upcoming elections.
Secondly, one thing remains constant: candidate Bassirou Diomaye Faye never made any secret pact while imprisoned at Cap Manuel. He did not endorse any initiative that would undermine the sovereign right of the Senegalese people to elect the candidate of their choice. He made no political or electoral commitments, whether bilateral or partisan, either during his detention or upon his release. The only two elements by which he should be evaluated and his actions judged are, firstly, his presidential platform and, secondly, his oath of office.
Obviously, the real pacts and conspiracies were hatched behind the scenes in that infamous prison suite at Cap Manuel. It was there that candidates who didn't belong to Pastef, or who had joined the patriotic struggle late in life, were made to swear, hand on the Quran, to hand over power to the "messiah" the day after their oath of office. In return, they were offered the endorsement of our honorable elected officials.
In this closed-door, prison-like setting, the decision was made to bury the Project after having violently perverted it in the 2022 legislative elections, where our entire base found itself relegated to the substitute list in favor of last-minute allies, and then again in the local elections of the same year, where opportunistic allies were preferred to our leaders, our young members, and the women of the Party. (Based on what I heard yesterday, the same pattern will be repeated in the upcoming legislative and local elections) and this will be the political death of Pastef's grassroots. Reject this messianic dictate, dear coordinators!
Despite all of the above, in the aftermath of his election, the former Secretary General managed to overcome the various plots orchestrated against his candidacy, against the Party, and against the "project" since the infamous Cap Manuel suite. He individually invited Party leaders to join the executive branch, thus offering them the opportunity to implement the ideals of democracy, progress, ethics, work, social justice, and sovereignty proclaimed in "The Call to Patriots," the manifesto of our Party.
He did the same during the nominations for the November 2024 legislative elections. When presented with the list of candidates we had finalized, he requested changes to prioritize the historical and structural legitimacy of certain established figures in their respective departments over opportunistic allies whose merit lay in their financial or popular support. The departments of Pikine and Keur Massar particularly caught my attention.
And when a new attempt to deviate from the Project began after our accession to power in March 2024, using the methods of 2022 and 2023, that is to say by means of a victimhood and pseudo-puritanical strategy as well as by the instrumentalization of the fate of the martyrs and the rendering of accounts, whose intermediate objective was the destabilization of the presidential majority and later of the regime, the President of the Republic, as Head of State guarantor of the proper functioning of the institutions and of social cohesion, as a cadre of our Party, has not ceased to warn against a messianic and anti-republican drift which threatens to lose the Party if we are not careful.
He did so every time the opportunity arose: both when in July 2025, he met with the National Political Bureau, other executives (ministers, directors general, deputies) individually or collectively during his economic tours at the grassroots level (deputy mayors, departmental and municipal coordinators, heads of local branches of the Party movements), and most recently during the breaking of the fast ceremonies organized at his home.
So, dear patriotic ministers, be proud of your decision. By responding to the Head of State's invitation, you have remained perfectly in line with our Party's manifesto, "The Call to Patriots," which enjoins us to always place the Fatherland and the Republic above all partisan or clan considerations.
You can be banned from WhatsApp and Telegram groups, excluded or suspended from the Party's national bodies, but no one can ever, politically speaking, tear you away from the patriotic project. This republican, democratic, and impersonal project for which you have sacrificed your careers, risked your freedom, compromised your relationships, and risked your lives.
So, walk with your head held high. Be proud of yourselves if the only reproach you receive is that of having answered the call of the Republic, whose institutional embodiment remains the Head of State Bassirou Diomaye D. Faye.
To the other brothers and sisters, executives, deputies who might still be tempted by the destructive and uncertain messianism that threatens the institutional survival of our Party, you have nothing to lose by changing your mind!
The Project will succeed, with true patriots!
