Paternité du sigle ‘’APTE’’ : Alternative Pour Thiès Émergent met en garde Pastef
Following the recent announcement by the PASTEF party regarding the creation of a coalition called "APTE (Patriotic Alliance for Work and Ethics)", the Collective of political leaders, civil society actors and citizens of Thiès wished to express its disagreement and formally rejects the use of this acronym by the said political formation.
The coordinator of the said collective, Cheikh Lô and his comrades, through a clarification on "the paternity of the acronym APTE and the defense of the interests of Thiès", find it imperative to recall that "the acronym APTE (Alternative Pour Thiès Émergent) has been, for more than a year, the identity of our citizen platform".
They point out that this platform was born in a context of local emergency, marked by opaque land management, particularly the Mbour 4 case where the allocation of nearly 315 plots, with an estimated value of 2 billion CFA francs, remains a real mystery in the eyes of the population.
Cheikh Lô continued: “APTE is the symbol of our commitment to defending the exclusive interests of Thiès and the people of Thiès. Therefore, we claim moral and political ownership of this acronym, which constitutes the heritage of our common struggle. We are determined to use all legal means at our disposal to retain the exclusive use of the name APTE.”
