Sa passation de services avec Al Aminou Lô : Ce que Sonko a dit au terme de la cérémonie

At the Prime Minister's office, the handover of responsibilities took place this Friday between Ousmane Sonko and his successor, Ahmadou Al Aminou Lô. The now former head of government, who has become President of the National Assembly, praised this republican tradition which, in his opinion, honors the State and its administration, as it ensures the continuity of public service.

“I am all the more satisfied, or at least happy to do it, because I am doing it with an incoming prime minister whom I know very well, with whom I have worked. Just now, I teased him by saying, ‘You know this corridor better than I do.’ Because he knows the left wing as well as the right wing, since he occupied the other wing at the back, which I only visited once or twice, whereas he was quite frequent in this corridor, in the context of our working sessions,” said Ousmane Sonko at the end of the handover.

He recalled that Al Aminou had been a colleague with whom he had worked for almost a year at the Prime Minister's office. This meant that he "knows the place well," he said. He then congratulated him on his appointment, offered encouragement, and prayed for him. "He is wise enough to know that this is a grueling, extremely demanding, and potentially damaging responsibility," he told national television.

Even though he knows the Prime Minister's office well, the handover of services allowed Al Aminou Lô to see a little of the scope of the files that have been examined and the work that remains to be done, says Sonko, who thanked and congratulated all his now former colleagues from the Prime Minister's office.

Al Aminou Lô, in turn, declared that by returning to the tenth floor of the President Mamadou Dia Administrative Building, he is joining a family of colleagues. "And I tell them this: I haven't changed and I never will, God willing. They know my work method, based on diligence, anticipation, rigor, commitment, and loyalty. And it is with this same style that I come," he affirmed.

He thanked the outgoing Prime Minister, Ousmane Sonko, President of the National Assembly, in particular for the legacy he leaves him.
