Sénégal: Le Chef de l’État veut la construction d’infrastructures publiques dans les territoires frontaliers
The President of the Republic declared, in the Council of Ministers, that the strategic situation of the border areas and territories of Senegal, "calls for massive public investments in basic social infrastructure."
In this context, he asked the Prime Minister as well as the Ministers of the Interior, Finance and Infrastructure to take appropriate measures to strengthen the budgetary resources intended for the gradual and rapid construction of these infrastructures in the border areas.
"It also underlines the importance of relaunching the projects and actions of the Emergency Program for the Modernization of Border Areas and Territories (PUMA) in priority areas and invites the Prime Minister to chair each year a National Council for Monitoring the Development of Border Areas and Territories, in order to ensure better programming and coordination of interventions by the State and its branches," it was emphasized in the press release of the said Council, this Thursday, October 9.
