Dakar, November 1, 2025 – The Taxawu Senegaal party, led by Khalifa Ababacar Sall, held the first meeting of its provisional National Political Secretariat this Saturday at its headquarters in Keur Idrissa Diallo, Sacré-Cœur. According to party officials, this strategic meeting marks a decisive step in consolidating the movement's vision and commitment to serving Senegal, democracy, and the rule of law.
Support for the march of the Front for the Defense of Democracy and the Republic
During the discussions, Taxawu Senegaal welcomed the success of the first peaceful march organized by the Front for the Defense of Democracy and the Republic (FDR), a coalition of the Senegalese opposition. For Khalifa Sall's party, this "exemplary" mobilization illustrates the political maturity of the Senegalese people and their commitment to the values of justice, freedom, and dignity.
The movement praised the "discipline and responsibility" of citizens who demonstrated peacefully against arbitrary rule, poor governance, and the continued decline in purchasing power. "The people have reaffirmed that popular sovereignty remains the foundation of any true Republic," the statement emphasized.
Freedom of the press: Taxawu denounces an authoritarian drift
The party also raised a strong protest against the heavy-handed interventions of the security forces in the newsrooms of 7TV and RFM, as well as the arrest of journalists Maïmouna Ndour Faye and Babacar Fall.
For Taxawu Senegaal, these acts constitute "a clear violation of press freedom and the right to information." "The press is only silenced when people fear the light," the party declared, before demanding the immediate and unconditional release of all political prisoners and prisoners of conscience.
Local finances and the economy: warnings on several fronts
Addressing local governance, Taxawu Senegaal raised the alarm about the cash flow problems faced by many municipalities. The party attributes this situation to the slowness of the state in transferring funds legally owed to local authorities, such as the Decentralization Endowment Fund, the Local Authorities Equipment Fund, and tax rebates.
While acknowledging the payment of the PACASEN 2025, the party deplores that the 2024 allowances remain unpaid, jeopardizing the continuity of local public service.
On the macroeconomic front, Taxawu Senegaal expressed concern about the 6% increase in domestic debt and the rising cost of borrowing. According to the party, this situation "reduces the state's room for maneuver and hinders structural investments in education, health, and infrastructure."
Households, meanwhile, are bearing the brunt of increased tax pressure, declining purchasing power, and the high cost of healthcare. Added to this are the recurring floods in areas like Touba, the Senegal River valley, Falémé, and Tambacounda, where, the party says, the populations "are left to fend for themselves."
The national private sector, particularly the construction industry, is not spared. Payment delays from the government are jeopardizing the survival of local businesses and hindering economic recovery.
Agricultural and educational emergencies
Taxawu Senegaal calls on the government to actively prepare the agricultural marketing campaign, particularly for peanuts, rice, and maize, in order to reward producers' efforts. It also requests increased support for horticulturalists for the cool-season campaign, while emphasizing the need to invest in storage and preservation infrastructure to reduce post-harvest losses estimated at 30%.
In the field of education, the party urges the state to honor its commitments to teachers in decision-making roles in order to preserve the stability of the school system. It advocates for effective reclassification, salary harmonization, and regularization of employment status in accordance with the principles of equity and social justice.
Internal organization and civic engagement
Internally, Taxawu Senegaal welcomes the mobilization of its local structures and the diaspora in the context of the ongoing census, highlighting the "dynamic of organization and proximity" which, according to the party, should lead the platform towards new democratic achievements.
In conclusion, the movement reaffirms its commitment to the FDR and its dedication to a just, free, and prosperous Senegal. "More than ever, Taxawu Senegaal remains by the side of the Senegalese people to defend the truth, promote justice, and rebuild trust between the State and its citizens," concluded Khalifa Ababacar Sall.

Et pourtant, Madiambal Diagne, il est la preuve humaine de l'humiliation du monde du journalisme au Sénégal.
- Il est radié du corps des greffiers pour faute lourde. Les greffiers ont donc des valeurs à préserver dans leur métier.
- Sans aucune autorisation à exiger d'une quelconque organisation de journalistes, le chassé des greffiers entre dans le journalisme comme dans une porte de bordel. Et il devient journaliste. Vous noterez la facilité.
- Première humiliation des journalistes: ils avaient leur CRED, chargé de surveiller le respect de l'éthique et la déontologie dans le métier de journaliste, le greffier chassé, Madiambal, les viole. Le CRED lui notifie une mise en garde. Madiambal réplique qu'il n'a de leçon à recevoir de personne. Cette sortie que j'avais considéré comme une insulte aux journalistes, je l'ai beaucoup commenté depuis que Madiambal s'était prononcé. J'avais donné une grille de comparaison. Imaginez un boucher radié du métier par les autres bouchers, et qui va ouvrir une clinique de chirurgie esthétique. Imaginez que ayant causé des dommages à une cliente (en réalité la clinique ne serait jamais ouverte), l'ordre des médecins le convoque et il leur réplique qu'il n'a pas de leçon à recevoir d'eux, sur leur métier, et qu'il ne répondra pas. Il fermera la clinique de force, que cela lui plaise ou pas. Mais chez les journalistes un Madiambal Diagne s'est permis la pareille. Et les journalistes à qui il a manqué de respect ont ajouté eux-mêmes à leur propre humiliation en mettant en place un machin de journalistes de la francophonie et en le mettant à la tête.
C'est normal qu'après cela, quand le CRED devient CORED, et que lui aussi l'épingle lors de sa hargne contre le juge Teliko, il s'en tamponne aussi. Madiambal avait poussé la bassesse jusqu'à rappeler que Téliko est d'origine guinéenne. Toujours sa hargne à nuire, contre vents et marées. Il n'en eut encore cure. Il récidiva, en écrivant encore qu'en Casamance seuls les peuls, mankagnes, et mandingues s'opposent à Sonko. Là, le CORED lui sort encore une condamnation. Il réplique qu'il n'a d'excuses à présenter à personne, parce que ceux qui dirigent le CORED ont un contentieux contre lui, et lui font un mauvais procès. Donc, pas de regrets, pas d'excuses, rejet de la décision du tribunal des paires. Un Madiambal au dessus de tout et de tous. Même dans un métier où il est entré par effraction, il les toise de haut.
Si ce même Madiambal, cette fois dans l'immobilier, est épinglé par la CENTIF, et que tous les journalistes qu'il a tant humiliés font corps derrière lui pour le soutenir, comment s'empêcher de penser qu'il avait raison de dire qu'il n'a pas de leçon à recevoir d'eux ? Ce sont eux qui prennent des leçons de lui. Et ce ne sont pas des leçons de journalisme. Même si le journalisme reste le masque.
Donc il y avait un État de droit et de la justice sous Macky ? Donc c’est vrai qu’il avait volé l’argent de la Mairie ? Moi qui disais que c’était un procès politique…
