Thierno Bocoum : «Quand la détention supplante la peine : le cas Abdou Nguer»
After seven months in pretrial detention, columnist Abdou Nguer, who had been sentenced to six months in prison, three of which were to be served, has been released. The leader of the Agir-Les Leaders movement considers this situation "a deviation from the Senegalese justice system."
In a Facebook post, Thierno Bocoum denounces "preventive detention" which, according to him, often serves as an early sentence, imposed without trial, to silence protesters, citing as examples the cases of Badara Gadiaga and Soya Diagne, who have been in pretrial detention since July and October 2025 respectively.
The former MP calls for reflection on the credibility of the Senegalese justice system and on the consequences of these abuses on democracy and human rights.
He also welcomed the release of Abdou Nguer, stressing that others continue to pay the price for the imposed silence.

Mr Bocoum , vous êtes qui ?
Combien de prisonniers restent en prison des années et sont acquittés finalement.
Rien de nouveau
Vous faites dans la désinformation et la méchanceté
