Tournée du président Bassirou Faye dans l’est du pays : Tambacounda et Kédougou témoins des promesses de l’emploi et de l’économie
President Bassirou Diomaye Faye began an economic tour of the eastern regions this Thursday, February 5, 2026, in Tambacounda. Upon his arrival at Tambacounda airport, the Head of State was greeted by administrative and territorial authorities, along with a military detachment that rendered honors, marking the start of a trip with significant economic, social, and strategic implications.
This tour is part of the ongoing government action aimed at sustainably transforming the national economy, strengthening job creation and enhancing the productive potential of each territory.
By declaring 2026 the "Year of Employment and the Social and Solidarity Economy", the Head of State set a clear course: to make employment, entrepreneurship and local initiative the pillars of national development.
The objective, throughout the various stages planned in eastern Senegal, is to bring infrastructure, training, agriculture, energy and investments into coherence, in order to concretely meet the expectations of the population, in particular young people and women.
