L’association Domou Senegal renouvelle une journée réussie de don de sang
Continuing its civic commitment to public health, the Domou Sénégal association, in partnership with the National Blood Transfusion Center (CNTS), organized a large blood collection day at the Lamine Guèye high school on April 30, 2026.
After making a strong impression in 2024 with a historic collection of 876 bags of blood at UCAD, the association continues its mobilization in favor of voluntary blood donation through schools and universities in Senegal.
This latest campaign was marked by a remarkable mobilization of Senegalese youth. Hundreds of young people, including a very high proportion of first-time donors, responded with courage, generosity, and a strong sense of responsibility. According to the campaign figures, 215 first-time donors participated in this blood drive, representing 78% of the participants, compared to 61 regular donors.
Beyond the numbers, this day primarily demonstrated the emergence of a new generation aware of the importance of solidarity and ready to take concrete action to save lives. Each unit of blood collected represents an additional chance for patients in emergency situations, accident victims, pregnant women, or people with illnesses requiring regular transfusions.
Through this action, Domou Sénégal confirms its commitment to making blood donation a true civic reflex among Senegalese youth and to contributing sustainably to strengthening the capacities of the CNTS.
“ Seeing so many young people come to donate blood for the first time is extremely powerful. These young Senegalese are committed, aware and deeply united. It is this collective energy that makes us want to continue, ” the association emphasizes.
Through this mobilization, the Lamine Guèye High School was transformed, for one day, into a true space of solidarity and civic engagement in service of life.
