Généralisation de l’indemnité de logement : Un tournant social salué par la coalition DiomayePrésident
The decision by the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye, to extend the housing allowance to state workers continues to generate positive reactions on the political and social scene.
The DiomayePrésident coalition, in a statement, welcomed a measure which it described as "strong, fair and in line with the commitments made to the Senegalese people".
For the ruling coalition, this decision reflects the clear desire of the new authorities to make social justice and the improvement of workers' living conditions a central focus of public action.
"The generalization of the housing allowance constitutes a concrete response to the legitimate expectations of state employees, both civil servants and non-civil servants," the document emphasizes.
In a context marked by the high cost of living and persistent social demands, this measure is seen as an important lever for strengthening workers' purchasing power. It also contributes to recognizing the strategic role they play in the functioning and continuity of public services.
The DiomayePrésident coalition also believes that this decision will contribute to the establishment of a more peaceful social climate, by correcting long-criticized inequalities in the allocation of housing-related benefits.
A break with past practices
Going further, the coalition sees this reform as an illustration of a new form of governance, "attentive to citizens" and committed to addressing the imbalances inherited from previous regimes. It perceives in it the hallmark of a more equitable and protective state, engaged in a process of profound renewal.
Reaffirming its support for the Head of State and government action, the DiomayePresident coalition calls for the continuation of structural reforms included in the Vision Senegal 2050, with the ambition of building a sovereign, prosperous and united country.
Finally, the coalition invites all social, trade union and citizen forces to support this dynamic of transformation, believing that the success of these reforms will depend on collective support and the commitment of all in the greater interest of the nation.
