KÉDOUGOU : Trois Nigérianes exploitées sexuellement, leur proxénète envoyait l'argent pour des funérailles

The regional branch of the National Directorate for the Fight Against Trafficking (DNLT) in Kédougou has dismantled a sex exploitation network involving three young Nigerian girls. The main suspect, Precious NWOKE, also known as Vera, was brought before the Public Prosecutor at the Kédougou High Court last Thursday on charges of criminal conspiracy and human trafficking.

The case was revealed thanks to an anonymous source. On December 16, 2025, the Kédougou regional branch of the National Directorate for the Fight Against Torture (DNLT) was informed of the arrival in the village of Mouran of three young girls from Nigeria. According to the information received, they had been brought there by a woman named Precious NWOKE, also known as Vera, with the intention of sexually exploiting them through prostitution.

The source specifies that each of the victims pays the aforementioned woman up to 1,500,000 CFA francs daily from their earnings, as reimbursement for the costs incurred in transporting them to Senegal. The three young women, identified by the initials RC, VA, and MK, are reportedly living at the home of Precious NWOKE, also known as Vera, located in the village of Mouran, where they work as prostitutes.

According to reports, upon their arrival in Senegal, the three young women were subjected to a ritual designed to force them to pay the full amount demanded and submit to the orders of Precious NWOKE, also known as Vera. This practice, common in human trafficking networks, aims to create psychological control over the victims and ensure their obedience.

Without delay, a mission was assigned to agents of the DNLT's regional office in Kédougou to identify and apprehend the suspect, the alleged victims, and any potential co-perpetrators or accomplices. The operation resulted in the arrest of Precious NWOKE, alias Vera, at her home, along with the three victims.

After being notified of her right to a lawyer, the accused partially admitted to the facts alleged against her during her interrogation.

"My mother recruited them for the restaurant business."

According to statements by Precious NWOKE, also known as Vera, it was her own mother, who lives in Nigeria, who recruited the girls by promising them that upon their arrival in Senegal, they would work in restaurants. A classic lie used by traffickers to lure their victims.

She claims that to ensure the transport of these three young Nigerian girls to Senegal, a financial arrangement known as a "sponsorship" was established between a certain Néné (no further details provided), Mimi (no further details provided), and herself. Following the sexual exploitation of the victims, each of the three parties received 1,500,000 CFA francs.

The suspect claimed to collect daily payments from the three young women's prostitution. She then sent a portion of the money to Néné and Mimi, who reside in Nigeria and Mali, respectively. According to her statements, the income from Ms. RC's prostitution rightfully belonged to her.

However, she disputes certain figures. She denies that Miss RC paid her a total amount of one million (1,000,000) CFA francs, claiming to have received only nine hundred thousand (900,000) CFA francs from her, derived from her prostitution earnings.

Use of funds: funerals and prenatal visits

When questioned about the use of the money, Precious NWOKE, also known as Vera, stated that she sent 700,000 CFA francs to her family in Nigeria via a bearer check for the funeral expenses of her brother, who died of mystical causes. The remaining 200,000 CFA francs were reportedly used for her prenatal care, according to Seneweb sources.

Following the investigation, Precious NWOKE, also known as Vera, was brought before the Public Prosecutor at the High Court of Kédougou on December 18, 2025, at 10:15 a.m. She is being prosecuted for criminal conspiracy and human trafficking, offenses punishable by severe prison sentences.

The three victims, RC, VA, and MK, were handed over to the NGO LA LUMIÈRE in Kédougou for care on the same day at 10:30 a.m. This organization, which specializes in assisting victims of human trafficking, will provide them with the psychological, medical, and legal support necessary for their rehabilitation.
