Keur Massar : machines à sous saisies et gérants arrêtés, les propriétaires de deux bars aggravent la situation face aux gendarmes
The owners of two bars, located in Keur Massar and the Apix estate, are in dire straits. Arrested and taken into custody at the Keur Massar gendarmerie for alleged attempted corruption, B. Gomis and J. Ndour could be brought before the prosecutor at the Pikine High Court this Monday.
According to the report in Les Échos, the accused presented themselves to the police after learning of the arrest of the managers of their bars, AB Sarr and S. Sambou, and the seizure on site of four unconventional slot machines.
Claiming ownership of the said equipment and pleading for the release of their employees, "they propose an amicable settlement. […] A gesture that the police consider an attempt at corruption," the newspaper whispers.
Thus, a corruption case has aggravated the consequences of a crackdown on unconventional slot machines, launched from Friday to Saturday, according to Les Echos.
Following the seizure in the two bars mentioned above, the gendarmes recovered eleven other machines in other locations, "which makes a total of 15 unconventional slot machines," the same source adds. He adds: "In addition to the seizure of equipment, the gendarmes also discovered the sum of 202,900 CFA francs in 100-franc coins."
