Ngor - Kaolack : 3 cliniques clandestines chinoises démantelées par la SR de Kaolack, 13 arrestations, dont le DG de SUNHOME

The Kaolack research unit has shut down three Chinese-owned businesses that were illegally practicing medicine and pharmacy. This large-scale operation, conducted between Kaolack and Dakar, led to the arrest of 13 suspects, including the CEO of SUNHOME, according to exclusive information obtained by Seneweb.

In November 2025, the Kaolack research unit received information reporting illegal medical and pharmaceutical practices in the city. To verify this information, the head of the unit requested assistance from the Senegalese Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (ARP), the only body authorized to issue marketing authorizations for medications.

After confirming the existence of these illegal facilities, a surveillance operation lasting over twenty days was implemented. Investigators observed a steady stream of elderly people leaving the clinics with packets of unauthorized medication.

First company dismantled: SUNHOME

The company SUNHOME, run by Chinese national Hu Zhenghuai, alias "Eric," had branches in Kaolack and Dakar. The searches revealed that the company was selling unlicensed pharmaceutical products and passing off medical consultations as simple advice on organic products.

This is how JMC (head of the regional branch), CBN and SK (in charge of consultations), PST, GD and MAGG (pharmacy management) were arrested in Kaolack.

In Dakar too, the individuals named Hu Zhenghuai (general manager) and Zhu Jiahao (salesman), KB, MND and STD (organic consultants) were apprehended.

Investigators discovered that these employees, who lacked medical qualifications, were using devices called "Quantum" to make diagnoses and prescribe treatments. They then issued prescriptions for medications available exclusively in their own "pharmacies."

Second company: BIO LIFE

In the Léona district of Kaolack, the BIO LIFE facility operated using the same modus operandi. Searches led to the arrest of AS (manager) and NTD (a state-registered nurse). Despite her diploma, NTD agreed to work in a facility without legal authorization and also used the "Quantum" device to examine patients.

Third company: GREEN WORLD

Located in the Niétty Gouye district of Kaolack, GREEN WORLD, run by the Chinese national HSC, operated identically to the other two. MN was apprehended during a consultation, while a patient had his feet immersed in a "detox" machine. The general manager provided no authorization for the sale of the products or the use of the medical equipment found on the premises.

Dangerous and fraudulent practices

The investigation revealed that these three structures were engaging in false advertising by claiming to cure AIDS, prostate problems, and liver diseases; using uncertified Quantum devices to make medical diagnoses; marketing drugs not approved by the ARP, exposing consumers to serious health risks; and employing unqualified medical staff to perform procedures reserved for healthcare professionals.

According to the ARP, whose report was attached to the proceedings, the quality, effectiveness, and safety of these products are not guaranteed. Their consumption exposes users to major health risks and can worsen their health.

The 13 suspects are being prosecuted for criminal association, impersonating a public official, endangering the lives of others, fraud, and illegally practicing medicine and pharmacy.

Regarding SUNHOME, money laundering charges were also brought after the discovery of cartons of oil mixed with medicines in warehouses in Ngor.

All the seized equipment (Quantum devices, detox machines, blood pressure monitors, computers and stocks of medicines) has been placed under seal.

At the end of the investigation, all the suspects were presented, this Monday, December 22, to the public prosecutor at the Kaolack High Court, Abass Yaya Wane.

According to the latest news, they have been returned to the prosecutor's office.
