NBA: les Wizards obtiennent le premier choix lors de la draft 2026
The Washington Wizards, who had the worst record in the 2025-2026 season, inherited the first pick in the 2026 NBA draft following the lottery held Sunday in Chicago.
In the midst of rebuilding, the Wizards, featuring French players Alex Sarr and Bilal Coulibaly, secured the first pick in the June 23rd and 24th draft, despite having a 14% chance of ending up in that position, thanks to a system that favors weaker teams.
The Wizards had accelerated their rebuild by attracting All-Stars Anthony Davis and Trae Young this winter, and will be able to further improve their roster with one of the college stars expected to be drafted very high, such as AJ Dybantsa or Darryn Peterson.
The Utah Jazz inherited the second pick, the Memphis Grizzlies the third, and the Chicago Bulls the fourth, following a ceremony that involved the 14 franchises that did not qualify for the playoffs.
