Haute Cour de Justice : Ismaïla Madior Fall auditionné aujourd'hui dans une affaire de corruption présumée

This Wednesday, barring any last-minute changes, former Justice Minister Ismaïla Madior Fall will be questioned by the High Court of Justice's Investigative Commission. L'Observateur points out that he is at the center of an alleged corruption case involving 50 million CFA francs. The academic, charged and placed under electronic surveillance, will have to explain himself to his two co-defendants who have become prosecution witnesses: entrepreneur Cheikh Guèye and the former Director of Construction at the Ministry of Justice, Mohamed Anas El Bachir Wane, according to the same source. The case concerns a public-private partnership for the construction of an Electronic Surveillance Center, a project estimated at 576 million CFA francs, on land belonging to the ministry. Guèye claims to have given the minister a cash advance of 50 million CFA francs as part of this agreement. He then allegedly refused to pay the rest of the sum allegedly demanded, which, he claims, led to the cancellation of the contract. For his part, Ismaïla Madior Fall denies everything, claiming to have refused the money, which he describes as a gift, and to have returned it to its owner, rewinds the daily newspaper of the Future Media Group.
