Kafountine : La gendarmerie saisit 10 kg de chanvre indien et une moto, le suspect prend la poudre d’escampette
On the evening of Sunday, August 31, 2025, the Kafountine gendarmerie brigade, under the command of Coly Ngom, seized 10 kg of Indian hemp and a motorcycle at the fishing pier in the commune of Kafountine. The alleged drug owner managed to escape, evading identification by the gendarmes. An investigation is underway to find the owner of the motorcycle and, by extension, the person responsible for the trafficking.
This operation is part of a series of actions carried out by the brigade to combat drug trafficking in the region. In recent days, security and control patrols have led to the seizure of 153 kg of Indian hemp and a tricycle, in addition to this new interception. Furthermore, the Kafountine gendarmerie has intensified its efforts against irregular emigration, intercepting 51 individuals during two recent attempts, including 17 during the night of August 30-31 in Abéné.
These actions demonstrate the commitment of law enforcement to preserving the safety of the population and combating illicit activities in this border area.
