RTS : Pape Alé Niang sort le chéquier
In an internal memo relayed by the daily newspaper Libération, the director general of RTS, Pape Alé Niang, announced the full settlement of arrears owed to staff for the period 2022-2024. This measure concerns outstanding mission orders, contributions to the Housing Cooperative, the Workers' Social Mutual, as well as rest entitlements.
For the Health Insurance Institution (IPM), a significant advance payment has been made, and management has committed to settling the remaining balance through a moratorium. For senior management, this operation represents a major step in its recovery strategy: "It reflects a firm commitment to restoring trust with social and institutional partners, while ensuring rigorous resource management and creating a calm and motivating work environment," the statement emphasizes.
This announcement comes as RTS is going through a deep crisis. The social climate is tense. The representative unions, notably SYNPICS and SYNPAP, continue to denounce a management style deemed "solitary, opaque, and based on patronage."
The workers point in particular to areas of uncertainty in the awarding of certain public contracts, citing for example the case of the "CAN Village", the management of which was allegedly entrusted to a close associate of Pape Alé Niang under conditions deemed not very transparent.
