COUPE DU MONDE 2026: À QUOI POURRAIT RESSEMBLER L'ÉTRANGE MAILLOT DOMICILE DES BLEUS
It's a moment that football fans always look forward to. Like every two years, as major international competitions approach, the French national team is preparing to change its jersey.
So what will the jersey Kylian Mbappé and his teammates will wear for the 2026 World Cup (if they qualify) look like? The Opaleak account unveiled images of the possible future jersey of Les Bleus on Saturday.
Images relayed by the specialist website Footyhealines, which is used to jersey leaks, but which should obviously be taken with a grain of salt. As with other national teams, rumors are generally rife surrounding the future jerseys of the French national team.
According to Opaleak, the 2026 World Cup home jersey will "pay homage to the Statue of Liberty, celebrating the historic ties between France and the United States." While the current jersey is entirely blue, featuring a prominent rooster, the next jersey supplied by Nike could feature thin diagonal stripes with "royal blue" as the dominant color. Another distinctive feature: the presence of a white collar.
The pattern and design of this tunic are similar to the away and third jerseys released by Adidas for Manchester United during the 2021-2022 season. This isn't exactly enough to generate much enthusiasm among French fans, with the response on social media being somewhat mixed, to say the least.
"Why not, it could trigger epileptic seizures in the opponent", "We're wearing the worst jersey in history", "It doesn't smell like a third star", "That's a jersey that won't make it past the last sixteen", "Never seen worse", "I'm a good fan base but it's disgusting...", we can read among the comments.
