Keur Massar : Une tentative de braquage d'une maison déjouée, 3 des 8 malfaiteurs arrêtés par la BR
The Keur Massar Research Brigade has put an end to the activities of a gang of criminals specializing in nighttime burglaries and robberies, according to Seneweb sources. On the evening of Thursday, September 11, 2025, three of the eight suspects were taken into custody after being identified using surveillance cameras.
On the night of September 10-11, 2025, at around 3 a.m., a group of eight criminals arrived at the home of Ms. N. Sow, who lived alone with her children in a neighborhood of Keur Massar. The gang's modus operandi consisted of targeting isolated villas, hoping to steal money and valuables.
Led by their leader, Mr. Séye, the group hid in the darkness to avoid arousing suspicion among the neighborhood. Only Mr. Séné went to the door, ringing the bell several times in the middle of the night. The suspicious owner threatened to alert the police. Panicked, the criminals immediately fled.
A complaint and damning images
Early in the morning, the victim filed a complaint with the commander of the Keur Massar gendarmerie company's Research Brigade, providing surveillance camera footage. These images, in which the perpetrators appeared with their faces uncovered, allowed the suspects to be quickly identified.
The cascade of arrests
Investigators first arrested apprentice driver Mr. Séye, 23, who is considered the leader of the gang. He cooperatively denounced his accomplices, including S. Séné, 20, a high school student, and apprentice driver PM Diallo, 21. The latter two were arrested in turn and admitted the facts, according to Seneweb sources.
Faced with a fait accompli, the incriminated trio revealed the identities of the five other members of the gang on the run.
Heavy loads
The accused are being prosecuted for criminal conspiracy and attempted armed robbery at night using a means of transport.
Current research
The gang consisted of eight individuals. While three have already been arrested, investigators from the Keur Massar Regional Police are actively searching for the other five identified perpetrators.
The Dakar Gendarmerie Legion, under the command of Colonel Malick Faye, is more determined than ever to fight crime and delinquency in all its forms.
